It’s often overlooked, but ice is one of the most essential cocktail ingredients in just about any drink. Not only is it key to chilling your cocktail, but it also provides something we might not think about and that’s water dilution. The amount of added water (melted ice) needs to be about 15-18%. So, while ice might seem like an afterthought, it’s actually a critical ingredient in perfecting the cocktail making process. So, if you need ice, grab some filtered water, freeze it and you’ll have your first ingredient ready and on deck for your next cocktail.
