Bartending 101
Home Bar Setup
You don’t have to be a seasoned bartender to start putting together your very own at home bar set up. As more and more of us explore making our own cocktails, we’re learning the many ways your home could be a place to make a fine cocktail.
Choose a Space
Your at home bar can come to life just about anywhere you choose. A small bar cart on wheels will move easily from the living room to the porch, and can be easily stored when not in use. A dedicated corner of your kitchen with shelves for glassware, spirits and a place to hang tools will give you counter space to create on. What’s important is you choose a space that feels right for your cocktail needs.
Start with the Essentials
While there’s a big wide world of home bar tools waiting for you, we recommend acquiring a bar spoon, a mixing glass, a jigger, a shaker, and a Hawthorne strainer. There are many simple kits out there to get you started.
Keep Experimenting and Exploring
The perfect at home bar keeps you curious. Maybe you’re wondering about muddling or just looking for simple cocktails on the rocks. Whatever you’re looking for, your home bar set up should encourage continuous exploration.
