When Hurricane Maria hit our home of St. Croix in September 2017, it caused severe damage to homes, communication networks, and the power grid. Despite the challenges Crucians faced in recovering from one of the worst Atlantic hurricanes on record, their resiliency never wavered. Neighbors came together to help each other and renew their island, inspiring Cruzan® Rum to amplify and sustain this “Island Spirit”. In partnership with GlobalGiving, Cruzan® has established the Island Spirit Fund to assist communities across the U.S. and its territories in weathering storms of all kinds. Grants made from the Fund will support local non-profit organizations providing the nourishment, supplies, equipment, and other resources required for short-term recovery and long-term stability. Beginning in 2018, Cruzan® will donate a portion of proceeds for every case of rum sold to the Island Spirit Fund* to ensure that no one weathers a storm alone. Simply put, the more rum we sell, the more good we can do.
